As a business developer at Utrecht Holdings Mirko supports researchers in the collaboration and commercialization of digital innovations, in particular in areas such as e-health, e-learning and artificial intelligence (AI). In addition, as an investment manager Mirko helps science-based spinoffs in Utrecht with seed capital investments to spur their R&D and company growth.
Mirko has a background in market research, ICT and new media innovation and holds a Master in Communication Science. Before, Mirko held senior marketing positions in software companies, led media research and development at public service broadcaster Teleac and has been a European market analyst with global market research firm IDC. Understanding both the academic and business worlds, Mirko’s drive is to help researchers in Utrecht to cross the bridge between research and market with intellectual property rights, commercial licenses, valorisation grants and spinoff investments in all disciplines where digital technology is a key enabler.
