Since yesterday, our new colleague, Peter Krekel, has started as a Business Developer Medtech at Utrecht Holdings.

Below is a short introduction:

I am Peter Krekel, 42 years old, and I have started as a Business Developer in Medical Technology. I have a background in Computer Science and, after my studies, I followed the path from academic research to successful commercialization. After completing my PhD at the Department of Orthopedics at LUMC, I founded a startup, which I later led to an exit. As a co-founder of the investment fund Blue Sparrows Medtech Fund, I gained relevant experience in both scouting and guiding researchers in setting up spin-offs. A key motivator for me is maximizing impact: I believe it is important that innovations find the right place and that as many patients as possible benefit from the excellent research being done here.
